St. Patrick's Day

Let me start by apologizing... I'm officially the worst blogger ever. Life has been busy, but not particularly interesting for others to read. Sorry!

However, St. Patty's Day in Athens was a lot of fun! Allen and I had an apartment full of company. Our friends from Atlanta, Brittney and Sean came up as well as two friends from Charlotte - Joe and Wylie. Their first night in town we had dinner/snack at The Grit. This is one of the most well known restaurants in Athens. Allen enjoyed a Coke float made with a glass bottle Coke. Yum! We then spend the night introducing our company to a few of our favorite bars.

Saturday began with a trip to another famous Athens restaurants - Mama's Boy. We have been wanting to go since we moved here, but it is always packed. Luckily, UGA students were out on Spring Break so we got a table right away. Everyone chose something different and delicious. I decided on the pimento cheese burger. Yes, it was as big as it looks. And yes, it was as delicious as it looks. And oh the fries! I want this burger again - and soon!

We then explored the Athens Greenway...

(Brittney and Me by the river)

(The guys on the train bridge)

(This will be their album cover if the guys ever have a band)

(Joe speaks softly, but carries a big stick)

(Spring has definitely sprung!)

In the early evening we again tried out a first - Terrapin Brewery. We tried 8 of Terrapin's beers - I can't say I liked any of them, but I'm not a beer drinker. Those that are, seemed to approve. We were able to throw a couple blankets in the grass, enjoy live music, and warm weather. It was a really nice way to spend the evening.

No first time trip to Athens is complete without a meal at Taqueria Del Sol. Man we love this place!

We ended the evening drinking St. Patrick's Day themed drinks at Blue Sky Bar. My apologies for no pictures. The next morning we had breakfast at another one of our favorites - Ike and Jane's. Again, no pictures. (Like I said, worst blogger ever). Overall, we had a great visit with all four of our friends. Hope they can come back soon!
